ARi is proud to announce that due to our growth in the Greater Detroit Area, we have opened a new delivery center located in Troy, Michigan. Our office is now officially open at 100 West Big Beaver Road, Suite 200, Troy MI, 48084.

ARi is proud to announce that due to our growth on the East Coast, we have opened a new delivery center located in Winston-Salem, NC. This office will serve as a central location for ARi’s East Coast operations and will act as a delivery center for near and offshore projects from both existing and new customers in this region.

ARi has entered into a collaboration with Horiba, a global pioneer that provides an extensive array of automotive test systems. This agreement was established to facilitate original equipment manufacturers in their plans to accelerate engine and vehicle development programs to meet stringent emission norms coming into force more so in developing countries.
With a growing need of support in the field of simulation, ARi is at the fore front of providing quality solutions to meet customer needs. We are currently involved with diagnostic solutions simulation, HMI, and powertrain simulation. In addition to our growth in simulation, ARi established a new office space onsite at Horiba’s Pune, India facility, allowing our engineers to have access to their 2 Test Cells. Recently, ARi announced a collaboration with Horiba, a global pioneer that provides an extensive array of automotive test systems. This agreement was established to facilitate original equipment manufacturers in their plans to accelerate engine and vehicle development programs to meet stringent emission norms coming into force more so in developing countries.
With this collaboration, ARi has established an office space onsite at Horiba’s Pune Facility, allowing our engineers to have access to their 10,000 sq.m state of the art test facility, particularly the 2 engine test cells, where we execute engine testing and validation projects.
ARi recently developed a Modbus Tester for TCP Modbus device testing and prototyping. We found that when using a previous tool, the functions and organization were difficult to use when interacting with a great deal of Modbus registers. At times, we needed to memorize the function of a specific Modbus register because that tool only gave us the Modbus register numbers.
Did you know ARi has an expertise in hydraulic development? One part of this process is our hydraulic design capability where we route hydraulic hose, line, and tube in multiple CAD design softwares, at a system and machine level. We create quality and cost-effective solutions by designing a hydraulics system strategy for the machine specs in the Mining, Construction, Oil and Gas, Marine, and Locomotive industries.

Also, in this newsletter, we go through a recent projects ARi was tasked to produce, which included a working display module to be used both as a show piece and a working field unit. We also discuss ARi's capacity to assist in powertrain development, including design, controls, testing, and prototype builds.
ARi has the capacity to assist in powertrain development, including design, controls, testing, and prototype builds. Our design expertise encompasses engines, transmissions, and drivelines utilized in heavy machinery industries and services as on/off highway, industrial, marine and locomotive applications. The ARi software development team is ready to handle core powertrain development features such as; interfacing customer specific sensors, operator controls, end of line applications for factory testing. We also support onsite commissioning at customer locations. Within our East Peoria Development Labs, we develop closed loop transmission models for utilizing NI or Dspace benches and perform validation of advanced transmission control features. After the simulation cycle your product can then start physical testing at our powertrain labs. These features combined with our fabrications and mechanical services create turn key solutions to support any part of the powertrain development cycle.
Have you ever wanted to display software without the look of a laptop or computer? What about showcasing a monitor or visual software solution to your customer base and taking your prototype lab displays to the next level? As products are developed in a lab setting, the exterior of the product frequently looks like a “mess”. After the product is tested in lab and becomes ready for the next step, it may be introduced in a display or working module to highlight. With the knowledge base and skill set of ARi, we can take the prototype mess and professionally contain this into a working module.

As a turn key solution, we can create full working displays and simulation modules that tailor to any customer needs. With onsite fabrication, wiring, controls, & software development, we can take lab or display ideas and turn them into reality.
ARi specializes in a model based approach for developing controllers for engines. Through our state of the art technologies, we design, develop and validate the engine control software. Using MATLAB/Simulink to design the software, we have the capabilities to validate the software through Model in the Loop Testing, Hardware in the Loop Testing, and Engine testing in the lab. We can use our approach to validate software strategies and fix the problems early on before implementing on an actual Engine. This model based software development approach allows accelerated development of control strategies, while our rich experience allows for developing quality control software.

ARi has designed a new oil consumption measurement unit, ARiOUS, to increase accuracy of oil loss while enhancing ease of use and adaptability that will accommodate small to large engines utilizing ultrasonic measurements and proprietary software. This device has proven more accurate than other solutions on the market, with both historical and real-time oil level monitoring through a unique user interface. The mobility and adjustability of the mechanical design also ensures accurate results across diverse engines and settings. The ARiOUS PC software allows real-time engine oil measurements, and the voltage outputs allow integration into existing DAQ systems.
ARi’s expertise in software and electronics isn’t limited to engines—our teams are skilled at designing, testing, and producing harnesses for lab validation. We are creating electrical harnesses for next generation engines, generator sets, off/on highway machines, automotive, marine, heavy machinery, and mining. These projects involve schematic creation, sensor selection, wiring harness routing on 3D models, and flattened drawings creation for harness manufacturing. The wiring harnesses are routed with high consideration of serviceability, achieving commonality across products in a product line to reduce cost.
The ARi Training Program is an entry level, structured program focused on building technical competency within full product lifecycle areas of design, validation, test, simulation, research and technical support. This program will allow trainees to gain hands on experience on topics related to embedded software development and testing by doing real projects. It will include a combination of classroom exercises, hands-on training, and participation in engineering projects, which includes HIL testing using dspace, and testing on real engines and providing training on automotive development tools.

You may have heard about ARi's product, the Oil Consumption Meter, but did you know that we also offer this meter as a service? ARi has a team of experienced professionals that utilize our ISO 17025 testing labs OR they can go to YOUR facility to set up our innovative oil consumption meter, calibrate the meter to your engine, run the test AND analyze the results.
Offered as a service, this option eliminates the costs of purchasing your own meter and utilizes our staff of experienced engineers that know the best practices to eliminate mistakes and work to ensure quality data.
ARi started 2017 with new projects and new approaches. We are working on white papers and new web pages and are entering final phases of development for the electric actuator. Through our new model based approach to engine controller development, ARi increased our development of control strategies.
